Downtown Trolley
Funding for the purchase of the two trolley buses was provided through donations from downtown businesses to the City of Racine for the express purpose of acquiring two rubber tire replica trolley buses. The vehicles were acquired in 1991 and are owned and operated by the City of Racine, Belle Urban System, in accordance with guidelines and regulations of the Federal Transit Administration.
The current Downtown Trolley service runs in the downtown area between Memorial Day and Labor Day providing downtown shuttle service to more than 15 restaurants, numerous pubs, two theatres, the art district, the library, museums and other downtown attractions.
The fare at all times is $1.00 per ride. The service is available Tuesday through Thursday from 10:00AM to 4:00PM, Friday and Saturday from 10:00AM to Midnight and Sunday from 10:00AM to 4:00PM. There is no service on Monday.
